The reigning Eurovision champions are on the hunt for Nemo's successor!
Eurovision 2024 winners Switzerland are gearing up to find the next act who will sing on homesoil at next years Eurovision Song Contest. Once again, Switzerland will select their Eurovision representative via an internal selection, which they have been doing since 2019.
Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR will open the submissions window on Thursday 8th August, and it will remain open until 22:00 CET on Thursday 22nd August. Full details can be found here. As in previous years, Swiss broadcaster SRF will be implimenting the country’s selection process in collaboration with the market research institute YouGov Switzerland.
As in previous years, the internal selection will be comprised of a multi-stage selection process. Once the submissions window has closed, a Swiss jury, an international audience jury, and a 25-member international jury of experts (who have already served as members of juries at the Eurovision Song Contest in previous years), will decide which song and artist will be heading to Eurovision 2025.
Switzerland’s Eurovision 2025 song and singer is expected to be revealed in early 2025.
With a runaway jury score of 365 points and a top 5 televote result, Nemo brought Switzerland their third Eurovision win, and first win since Céline Dion in 1988, with their song “The Code”. Since their win, numerous Swiss cities have expressed their interest in hosting next years contest, with four cities officially bidding to host: Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zürich,
Switzerland are not hanging around when it comes to Eurovision 2025, as, alongside the start of the bidding process for host city, the country has also announced its Core Project Team for the contest, including: Swiss Head of Delegation Yves Schifferle as Head of Show and Christer Björkman as Head of Contest, among eleven others members.
