Spain: just under 670,000 euros spent on Eurovision 2022 participation

RTVE have confirmed that 668,792,60 euros was spent on Spain's Eurovision 2022 participation.

Maldita.es report that a total of 668,792,60 euros was spent on Chanel’s Eurovision 2022 participation in Turin. This makes it Spain’s second most expensive participation since 2011. 

The total cost of Spain’s Eurovision 2022 participation include 24,700 euros spent on the staging and 18,029 spent on Chanel and her dancers outfits, whilst the participation fee was 302,150 euros. Other expenses by RTVE include 7,350 euros given to Spain’s commentator, Tony Aguilar.

The cost of 668,792,60 euros is roughly 200,000 euros more than what was spent on Blas Cantó’s Eurovision 2021 participation, in which RTVE spent 475,248 euros.

Spain’s most expensive Eurovision participation of the last decade came in 2019, when 782,044 euros, was spent on Miki Núñez’s participation in Tel Aviv. In comparison, Spain’s least expensive participation over the last decade was in 2013, when RTVE spent just 432 775,86 euros on El Sueño De Morfeo’s participation in Malmö.

Spain have already confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2023, and have confirmed that Benidorm Fest will be returning for a second year running, starting on January 29th and ending on February 4th.
