Serbia has spoken! It’s Luke Black for Eurovision 2023 with ‘Samo mi se spava’

Luke Black will represent Serbia at Eurovision 2023 with his song "Samo mi se spava" (I’m just sleepy).

After two semi finals and one mammoth final, we finally have a winner! Luke Black has been crowned the winner of Pesma Za Evrovizija 2023 and will go on to represent Serbia at this years Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Samo mi se spava” (I’m just sleepy).

The Pesma Za Evrovizija final was brought to us live from RTS Studio 8 in Belgrade. The show, hosted by Milan Marić and Dragana Kosjerina, saw a total of 16 acts competing.

  • CHEGI & Braća bluz bend – “Svadba ili kavga” (A wedding or a fight)
  • Dzipsii – “Greh” (Sin)
  • Luke Black – “Samo mi se spava” (I’m just sleepy)
  • Filip Baloš – “Novi plan drugi san” (A new plan, another dream)
  • Princ – “Cvet sa Istoka” (Flower from the East)
  • Filarri – “Posle mene” (After me)
  • Gift – “Liberta” (Liberty)
  • Empathy Soul Project – “Indigo”
  • Zejna – “Rumba”

The results of tonight’s final were decided by 50% televote and 50% jury vote. Nađa was the winner of the jury vote with 52 points. Luke Black and Filip Baloš completed the top 3 with 49 and 41 points respectively.

Throughout the show, there were, quite understandably, homages made to the United Kingdom and Liverpool. The opening act saw the four hosts taking on Bucks Fizz as they performed their Eurovision 1981 winning entry “Making Your Mind Up”.

The interval act saw numerous Serbian artists come together to pay tribute to one of Liverpool’s biggest successes, The Beatles, as they sang a medley of their biggest hits, from “Love Me Do”, to “Let It Be”, and everything in between!

Serbia went on to achieve one of their best Eurovision results last year when Pesma Za Evrovizija 2022 winner, Konstrakta, went on to achieve top 5 for Serbia at Eurovision 2022 in Turin with “In Corporo Sano”.

Konstrakta’s successor, Luke Black, becomes Serbia’s 15th Eurovision participant since their debut in 2007. x will perform ” in the first half of the first semi final on Tuesday, 9th May.
