The North Macedonian broadcaster has revealed that they will be using a national final to select their entrant for Eurovision 2022.

The broadcaster has announced that submissions have now opened, and will remain open until January 16th. Songwiters from any country are allowed to submit a song, but all singers must be North Macedonian.

Once the submissions window closes, the broadcaster will select six acts who will compete in the live televised national final. The winner will be decided by 50% jury vote and 50% audience vote. The winner is expected to receive a cash prize of 2,000 euros which they can use for the production of their song, and making any final changes ahead of Eurovision in Turin.

North Macedonia debuted in Eurovision 1996, and they have typically used the Skopje Fest to select their Eurovision entry. Since 2013 however, the nation has used internal selections instead.

The best result of North Macedonia in Eurovision came in 2019 when Tamara Todevska topped the jury vote and finished in 7th place overall in the grand final.
