Zdob s̩i Zdub return to Finala Națională 2022 as the line-up is revealed

The names of the 29 acts and songs that will be competing in Finala națională 2022 have been revealed by the Moldovan broadcaster, and there are some familiar faces among the line-up.

Among the line-up are previous Finala națională participants, as well as Eurovision and Junior Eurovision acts. Denis Midone represented Moldova at Junior Eurovision 2012 with his song “Toate Vor Fi“, and has also participated in “O Melodi Pentru Europa”.

Moldovan punk-folk band Zdob și Zdub are returning to the selection process after representing Moldova in Eurovision 2005 and 2011.

Singer-songwriter Sasha Bognibov has submitted entries to Moldova’s Eurovision selection process on no less than 17 occassions, and is back this year with two entries.

Live auditions are expected to be held on January 29th, with the final of Finala națională 2022 expected to take place on February 5th.

Moldova is returning to a national final for the first time since 2020, when Natalia Gordienko won Finala națională 2020 with her song “Prison”. Natalia was brought back to Eurovision 2021 by the Moldovan broadcaster, this time with her song “Sugar” that earned Moldova 13th place in the final.
