The hosts of Eesti Laul 2024 have been revealed

Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld will host Eesti Laul 2024

The Estonian broadcaster ERR has revealed the hosts of next year’s Eesti Laul competition. Eesti Laul is the Estonian National Final that will determine who will be representing Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden.

Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld will have the honour of hosting Eesti Laul 2024. Tõnis is an established Estonian actor, known for his success in the show business industry, in addition to hosting other well-known TV shows in the country. Grete Kuld is an iconic Estonian singer, actress and TV presenter, and is also a very notable public figure in Estonia.

Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld will bring their expertise & experience together as hosts for what will be a very exciting Eesti Laul 2024. Recent news of Eesti Laul’s 20 finalists for the 2024 edition have certainly built the excitement and anticipation among fans in the Eurovision community.

The 20 lucky singers & songs that will be in the running to represent Estonia at Eurovision 2024 are:

Multikas, Ewert Sundja – Oblivion
Anet Vaikmaa – Serotoniin

Pre-Qualified songs:

Brother Apollo – Bad Boy
Daniel Levi – Over The Moon
Nele-Liis Vaiksoo – Käte ümber jää
Carlos Ukareda – Never Growing Up
Uudo Sepp & Sarah Murray – Still Love

According to ERR, the Eesti Laul 2024 songs will be broadcast for the very first time on December 8th. 15 songs will take part in the Semi-final that will be held in Tartu on January 20th, five of which will qualify for the Grand Final which will take place in Tallinn on February 17th. They will also be joined by five more pre-qualified songs, who will all then sing their hearts out in hopes of being chosen to represent their country next May in Sweden.

Tõnis Niinemets expressed his excitement about next year’s Eesti Laul in a recent interview saying, “For me, Eesti Laul is like Christmas or my birthday. This time of the year I look forward to even more excitedly than summer. And it’s especially nice that I can go to Tartu again this year!”

All of the hopeful candidates for Eesti Laul 2024 will be wishing for the same success as this year’s Estonian representative in Liverpool. Of course, Estonia was represented by the incredible Alika with her song “Bridges”. Alika was somewhat of a ‘dark horse’ at this year’s contest, placing 8th in the Grand Final with 168 points overall.
