During this year, we heard Slovakia may potentially join the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is expected to take place later this year in Paris for the first time in history. However, RTVS denied Slovakia’s participation. This would have been Slovakia’s first participation in Junior Eurovision. RTVS spokeswoman Pivarčiová informed us that Slovakia will not participate in the Junior Eurovision.

Additionally, the RTVS spokeswoman also confirmed that Slovakia does not intend to return to the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, where the upcoming contest will be hosted by the Italian broadcaster RAI in an Italian city and venue yet to be revealed.

Slovakia’s last participation in the competition was back in 2012 where Max Jason Mai represented Slovakia in Baku.

Ultimately, RTVS decided to continue their non-participation streak in the competition by not returning.

Are you disappointed with Slovakia’s no return? Which other countries are you waiting to confirm their participation? Let us know in the comments below!
