It has been confirmed that Simone Grande will be representing Italy at this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
After his win on The Voice Kids Italy 2023, it was rumoured that Simone Grande would be Italy’s Junior Eurovision representative, after Rai announced that the winner of The Voice Kids would represent Italy at Junior Eurovision 2024. However, this news was not confirmed by the broadcaster until yesterday.
The Italian broadcaster has also confirmed that Simone will be singing “Piagiama Party” (Pyjama Party) at Junior Eurovision 2024, with the song and music video to be released in the coming weeks. He follows in the footsteps of fellow The Voice Kids alumni Melissa and Ranya, who represented Italy in last years Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Nice with the song “Un mundo giusto”.
Who is Simone Grande?
Simone Grande is 11 years old and comes from Rozzano, a small town near Milan. Simone started off dancing at the age of four, (thanks to his older sister Noemi), but that soon turned into singing and in 2023, he went on to win The Voice Kids Italy as part of Team Clementino. For his audition, he sang Marco Mengoni’s Eurovision hit “L’Essenziale”
Apart from singing, Simone has a passion for football, and is a big supporter of Inter Milano. He has been playing football since he was eight years old. He also enjoys cooking, and often cooks for his family.
Since winning The Voice Kids Italy in December 2023, Simone has gone on to release a cover of Mahmood and Blanco’s Eurovision 2022 entry “Brividi”.
