The final of Pesma za Evroviziju will be taking place on March 2nd.

It has been confirmed that the final of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 is set to take place on March 2nd, with two semi finals provisionally set for February 27th and 29th, depending on sports broadcasts. At the present time, no venue has been confirmed for the shows, but it is likely it will be held in either Belgrade Arena or Sava Center, which is also in Belgrade.

In the most recent episode of the RTS Podcast, Evrovizijske priče, the Creative Supervisor for Pesma za Evroviziju, Olivera Kovačević, has revealed that the broadcaster received a record number of submissions, and an increase of around 50 submissions compared with 2023.

“Around 235 compositions. Last year there were around 185. Almost 50 more compositions and authors than last year. From year to year we have more interest and I can say that people with amateur recordings to top professionals, to young gifted, to people with a successful career.”

The Selection Committee of Serbian broadcaster RTS will listen to all of the submissions on December 11th 2023, and the broadcaster plans to announce the participants of Pesma za Evroviziju 2024 before the New Year, as Kovačević explains: “We want to announce before the New Year about thirty, I’m not telling you the exact number, whether it’s 30, 32 or 34, who made it to our festival Song for Eurovision 24.”

Pesma za Evroviziju (Song for Eurovision), organised by Serbian broascaster RTS, has been used as the country’s national final for Eurovision since 2022. It took over from Beovizija in 2022, as the company who owns the rights to the Beovizija brand, Megaton, decided they would not renew their contract with RTS.

The first edition of Pesma za Evrovizija brought Serbia great success in Eurovision, as the winner, Konstrakta, went on to achieve one of the country’s best results in the contest, finishing 11th with the juries, fourth with the televoters and fifth overall, achieving their highest score ever – 312 points. This was Serbia’s first top five finish since 2012 when Željko Joksimović finished in 3rd place with “Nije ljubav stvar”.

Luke Black went on to win the second edition of Pesma za Evrovizija in 2023 with his song “Samo mi se spava”. He just made it into the final, where he finished in 24th place with 30 points.
