RÚV reveal artists and songs competing in Söngvakeppnin 2025.

The Icelandic broadcaster has revealed the names of the ten acts that will be competing in this years edition of Söngvakeppnin, alongside the release of their songs, which you can listen to on RÚV’s official YouTube Channel.

Söngvakeppnin 2025 will be comprised of two semi finals and one final. Five acts will be competing in each semi final, with the top three acts from each semi final advancing to the final. The final results will be decided by 50% televote and 50% international jury vote, with this jury being made up of members from seven different countries.

Semi final 1: February 8th

Semi final 2: February 15th

All three show will be returning to RVK Studios in Gufunes, Reykjavík for the first time since 2023, with Benedikt ValssonGuðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsson taking on hosting duties. 

Swedish director, choreographer and graphic designer Thomas Benstem, and Selma Björnsdóttir (Eurovision 1999 & 2005) will be the Creative Directors for this years show alongside choreographer Baldvin Alan Thorarensen.

Hera Björk was crowned the winner of Songvakepnin 2024 with her song “Scared of Heights” and went on to represent Iceland at Eurovision for a second time last year in Malmö, where she finished in 15th place in semi final one. Hera previously represented Iceland at Eurovision in 2010 with “Je ne sais qoui”, where she made it to 19th place in the final.
