RÚV publish detailed semi final results for Söngvakeppnin 2024 semi finals

RÚV publish full televoting results of the Söngvakeppnin 2024 semi finals.

Just days ago, the Icelandic broadcaster published the full televoting results of the two semi finals for this years edition of Söngvakeppnin. The results of both semi finals was decided by 100% televoting, whilst the final saw a mix of televote and jury vote. The broadcaster previously released the detailed results of the final at the beginning of March.

Semi final 1:

  1. VÆB – “Bíómynd” – 7,347 votes
  2. Anita – “Stingum af” – 6,514 votes
  3. Blankiflúr – “Sjá þig” – 3,046 votes
  4. CeaseTone – “Ró” – 1,344 votes
  5. Sunny – “Fiðrildi” – 577 votes

Semi final 2:

  1. Bashar Murad – “Vestrið villt” – 9,034 votes
  2. Hera Björk – “Við förum hærra” – 8,552 votes
  3. Sigga Ózk – “Um allan alheiminn” – 6,730 votes
  4. Maiia – “Fljúga burt” – 3,184 votes
  5. Heiðrún Anna – “Þjakaður af ást” – 1,053 votes

As we can see, VÆB and Bashar Murad were the clear semi final winners, who went on to finish in fourth place and second place in the final respectively. Sigga Ózk was the wildcard act chosen by the broadcaster to advance to the final. Eventual Söngvakeppnin 2024 winner Hera Björk finished in second place, just 482 points behind Bashar Murad.

Hera Björk will go on to represent Iceland at Eurovision for a second time at this years contest in Malmö with her song “Scared of Heights”. She previously represent the Island nation at Eurovision 2010 in neighbouring Oslo, Norway with “Je ne sais quoi”. Will it be second time lucky for Hera?
