BBC confirm Ncuti Gatwa as the United Kingdom's spokesperson for Eurovision 2025.
From Dr Who to Eurovision… Rwandan-Scottish actor Ncuti Gawta, who is well know for his role as the fifteen doctor in Dr Who, will be responsible for reading out the United Kingdom’s jury points in the final of Eurovision 2025 on May 17th.
On Saturday 17th May, BBC One viewers will be treated to a “Super Saturday” as the BBC will bring the nation together for an evening of “event television”. Prior to the Eurovision 2025 final, viewers can tune in to a special Eurovision Dr Who themed episode, Doctor Who (The Interstellar Song Contest), in which the cast travel to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest, co-hosted by Rylan – where planets from across the universe compete for the top prize.
Ncuti Gatwa becomes the 25th spokesperson for the United Kingdom, and the 13th male spokesperson in the United Kingdom’s Eurovision history.
Eurovision 2025 will take place in Basel, Switzerland, following on from Nemo’s win last year with “The Code”. This will mark the third time Switzerland is hosting Eurovision, the first two being in 1956 and 1989. The United Kingdom will be represented by girl group Remember Monday and their song “What The Hell Just Happened?”.
