Montenegro Unveils 16 Entries for Montesong 2024 Ahead of Basel 2025

Montenegro is set to make a triumphant return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 with the launch of its new national selection event, Montesong. After a two-year hiatus, the Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG has unveiled 16 diverse entries vying for the chance to represent the nation on the European stage.

The inaugural Montesong competition is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Voco Hall in Podgorica, coinciding with the anniversary of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG). The event will be broadcast live on RTCG’s main channel, including its satellite service for international audiences, and on the Montesong YouTube channel. The winner will be determined through a combination of public and jury votes.

The 16 competing entries, released on November 10, 2024, showcase a wide array of musical styles and talents:

Nina Žižić – “Dobro Došli”

This lineup includes both emerging artists and seasoned performers, reflecting Montenegro’s commitment to showcasing its rich musical heritage. Notably, Nina Žižić returns to the Eurovision scene, having previously represented Montenegro in 2013 alongside Who See with the song “Igranka.”

Montenegro’s Eurovision journey began in 2007, with two Grand Final qualifications to date. Their highest achievement was in 2015 when Knez secured 13th place with “Adio.” The nation’s return in 2025 marks its 13th participation, aiming to build upon its Eurovision legacy.
