Marko Bošnjak's performance of "Poison Cake" to be re-worked for Eurovision.

Speaking on television show Dobro Jutro, Hrvatska, Croatia’s Eurovision 2025 representative Marko Bošnjak has confirmed that everything about the performance of “Poison Cake” will be changing for Eurovision, and that everything will be completley different to what we saw in Dora.

“We’re changing everything, changing the costumes, changing the set, changing the lighting, changing the ambiance and actually the whole story. We’ve been talking about the story through our performances at Dora, but now at Eurovision we have to tell it louder and clearer.”

Despite Marko and his team being on a tight time frame to submit their Eurovision 2025 staging plans to the EBU before the deadline, they made it work, and are happy with the work they have submitted, as Marko explains:

“We did that. Dora was a little later this year, so we had less time, but when you get together senior leaders who have the same goal and who really believe in a vision… We are satisfied with the concept and what we sent, so we will further develop it now in the next 60 days or so. Those heads are Helena Janjušević , so we have Kreša, who is the ‘mastermind’ behind everything… All the song authors and stylists, now we are all in one huge Eurosong group, and then we ‘brainstorm’ every day.”

As previously mentioned, Mark will be working with Kreša and HELEna Janjušević, a choreographer and dancer who has worked on many Croatian television shows, and movies, as well as working with big artists, including Milica Pavlovic.

Marko has previously competed in Dora in 2022 with his song “Moli za nas” (Pray For Us), where he finished in second place behind Mia Dimšić. After winning Dora this year, he now gets to realise his dreams of performing at Eurovision: “Now I’ve really ‘got into’ the role and it’s great. I can’t wait to represent Croatia as well as possible and it’s great that no one has high expectations because then I have, and I know what we can offer, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed and can’t wait.” He will perform in the second half of semi final one on Tuesday 13th May.
