Mariam Shengelia will represent Georgia at Eurovision 2025 with the song "Freedom".
After months of radio silence, we finally have news from Georgia! The broadcaster has confirmed that Mariam Shengelia will be representing them at this years contest in Basel, and will be singing her song “Freedom”.
Miriam Shengelia has previously attemped to represent Georgia at Eurovision back in 2020, when she took part in the ninth season of Georgian Idol, which was being used to select Georgia’s Eurovision representative that year. She made it all the way to the live shows, where she finished in sixth place. She ended up providing backing vocals for Tornike Kipiani‘s Eurovision 2020 song “Take Me As I Am”.
Miriam has previously participated in X Factor Georgia in 2018, when she was just 14 years old. She returned to yet another television singing competition in 2021, when she took part in The Voice Georgia, making it to the semi finals. Last year, she was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars in Georgia.
Nutsa achieved great success for Georgia at Eurovision 2024 when she qualified to the final, bringing Georgia back to the final for the first time since 2016. With her performance of “Firefighter”, she ended the night in 21st place with 34 points. She joined Dons from Latvia, who also brought his country back to the final for the first time since 2016.
