Luxembourg’s national broadcaster, RTL, has unveiled the seven artists set to compete in the ‘Luxembourg Song Contest’ 2025. This event will determine the country’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. The lineup showcases a diverse array of talent, reflecting Luxembourg’s rich musical heritage.
Meet the Contestants:
1.Laura Thorn: A seasoned musician and educator, Laura teaches at the Esch/Alzette Conservatory of Music. With extensive training in music theory, piano, cello, and dance, she holds a master’s degree in music theory, pedagogy, and pop singing from IMEP in Namur.
2.One Last Time: This pop-rock band, formed between 2021 and 2022, comprises Andrea Galleti, Jonathan Fersino, Tom Sagramola, Alessandro Sorbello, and Barbara Salvi. They gained recognition during the first ‘Luxembourg Song Contest’ and plan to release their debut album in 2025.
3.Luzac: Initially trained as an educator, Luzac’s passion for music led him to the urban pop scene. After releasing his debut single “J’y arriverai” in 2021, he has focused on songwriting and is preparing for his first album.
4.Rhythmic Soulwave: A group of six musicians from diverse backgrounds who met at the Luxembourg Conservatory. The ensemble includes Luxembourgish members Mael Fontana, Leopold Strauß, and Angela Aguilera Caballero, along with Spanish bassist Diego Luce.
5.Sasha: A 22-year-old singer-songwriter with a background in jazz and pop. Sasha has performed at various festivals across Europe and is known for her soulful voice and emotive performances.
6.Thea: An electronic music producer and DJ, Thea has been active in the European club scene for over a decade. She aims to bring her unique sound to the Eurovision stage.
7.Yannick: A 25-year-old rapper and hip-hop artist who has released several mixtapes and is recognized for his dynamic stage presence and lyrical prowess.
The ‘Luxembourg Song Contest’ 2025 is scheduled for January 25, 2025, at the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette. The winner will be determined through a combination of public voting and an international jury, earning the opportunity to represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
