The 15 songs competing in Supernova 2024 have been released.
And then there were 15. After receiving 108 submissions, the Latvian broadcaster has whittled them down to just 15. The songs were revealed on Rīta Panorāma on LTV this morning, and are now available to listen to on YouTube.
There is one returning artist in the line-up – Agnese Rakovska. She was a member of the group Triana Park, who represented Latvia at Eurovision 2017 with “Line”.
Out of the fifteen entries, thirteen of them are entirely in English, one is in Latvian (Kur) and one is in Ukrainian (Na chystu vodu).
All of the fifteen songs will be performed in the Supernova 2024 semi final on February 3rd. The top 10 acts will advance to the final of Supernova on February 10th, where the winner will be decided by 50% televote and 50% jury vote.
Sudden Lights are the most recent Supernova winners, winning the 2023 edition with “Aijā”. They just missed out on a place in the final, finishing in 11th place with 34 points, just 3 points behind Serbia in 10th place. The last time Latvia qualified to the final was with Justs and “Heartbeat” in 2016.
