An internal selection procedure led to the Canadian woman being sent to Liverpool in May.
France 2 announced her name at a press conference today in Paris. Revealed in 2021 with her hit “Tu t’en iras” she represents a chic universe based on French song with pop inspirations. “I am very honoured to represent France at Eurovision, the most iconic song contest in the world,” says La Zarra.
The enigmatic performer plays a lot on her image to integrate people into her style and universe. Sensual, modern, vintage, she is all at once. She writes very early on, as a prelude to her songs of today, which speak of her – sharp confessions, categorical feelings, she sings with her warm and distinguished voice her desires, her hopes but also her sufferings and her disillusions with accuracy.
A song to be revealed in "two to three weeks"
According to the head of delegation, we can expect a “mysterious, surprising, different” song, “a timeless mix of several repertoires” including “ABBA-like sounds”, with “personality” and sung entirely in French. As of now, no other news related to the song was unveiled.
France likes to send revelations to Eurovision. So it’s taking the gamble again and hoping it pays off! While waiting to discover his new title for the contest, here is the title that revealed him to the general public in 2021.
Do you think La Zarra will be luckier than Alvan & Ahez in Turin? Are you surprised France changed again for an internal selection? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
