With just under four months until Junior Eurovision 2024, what's going on so far?
As we near the end of July, we are just under four months away from this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Various competing countries have already selected their artists, and have their selection processes well underway; but despite this, we only have one confirmed song as of yet.
Should I stay or should I go?
At the present time, a total of 14 countries have confirmed their participation in this years contest. Alongside these participation conformations, we have also had Belgium, Greece, Norway. Serbia, Iceland, United Kingdom, Wales and Scotland all confirming that they will not be participating in this years contest. Albania, who was present at last years contest has yet to make any announcement on participation. The Junior Eurovision 2024 line-up at present:

Despite not participating in this years contest, it has been confirmed that Lithuania and Montenegro will be broadcasting the contest. Lithuania participated in the contest in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011; whilst Montegro had two particiaptions in 2014 and 2015.
Who is heading to Madrid?
A total of five countries have already selected their representative for Junior Eurovision 2024, with Germany having chosen their song as well. Spain and North Macedonia opted for an internal selection again, in which Chloe DelaRosa and Ana Vanchevska and Aleksej Ivanovski were chosen to sing at this years contest. Their songs will be selected internally.
For a second year running, Germany had an online national final, comprising of five acts. One minute snippets of each song were uploaded online, where a mix of 50% expert jury and 50% public vote (for those in Austria, Germany and Switzerland) was used to determined the final results. Bjarne and his song “Save The Best For Us” was crowned the winner.
The final two acts to have been confirmed come from Estonia and Portugal. For a second year running, the winner of Tähtede lava was chosen to represent Estonia at Junior Eurovision 2024. This year, it’s Annabelle Ats. Over in Portugal, they have once again turned to The Voice Kids to find their representative, which this year brings them Victoria Nicole.
Malta and The Netherlands will be both be chosing their Junior Eurovision 2024 representative on September 21st. Poland and Ukraine are also making good headway with their repesctive national finals as well, which are expected to take place in September. Junior Songfestival is well underway in The Netherlands, and four acts will be battling it out to become the Dutch representative.

When and where?
Junior Eurovision will be coming to Spain for the first time this year, as the country’s capital Madrid gears up to host the contest. The capital city beat off Valencia, Barcelona, Málaga and Grenada to become the official host city of the contest.
The contest will be taking place on Saturday 16th November at Caja Mágica, a multi-purpose stadium in the capital. This will be the first time since 2015 that Junior Eurovision will take place on a Saturday. The hosts for the show, and information about the opening ceremony, have yet to be announced. It is likely that the 50% jury voting and 50% online voting split will remain in place for this years contest.
