The songwriters for Portugal's Junior Eurovision 2023 entry have been revealed.

The Portuguese broadcaster has revealed the songwriters that will be composing Júlia Machado’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2023.

Aurora Pinto, Fernando Daniel, Twins and João Direitinho will all write and produce the Portuguese entry for this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest in France.

Among this line-up of songwriters and composers are two familiar names – Fernando Daniel and Twins. Fernando Daniel worked with Simão Oliveira on his Junior Eurovision 2021 entry “O Rapaz”, whilst Twins is one of the songwriters of Portugal’s Eurovision 2023 entry “Ai Coração” sung by Mimicat.

Júlia Machado was chosen by RTP as Portugal’s Junior Eurovision 2023 representative after she won season 4 of The Voice Kids back in June. Júlia is a 12 year old singer who currently resides in New Jersey in the United States. When she is not busy with school, she enjoys singing and doing theatre.

Júlia loves coming to Portugal every summer with her family, and loves to surf in Nazaré. When she is older, Júlia would like to be either a singer or a veterinarian.

Portugal made their Junior Eurovision debut in 2006, where they finished in 14th place. They returned in 2007 and finished in 16th place. Despite high viewing figures, Portugal made the decision to withdraw from the contest in 2008, and didn’t return until 2017.

Since their return, year by year, Portugal’s results keep getting better and better. In 2021, Simão Oliveira achieved Portugal’s first Junior Eurovision top 3 (in the online vote), managing 11th place overall. Nicolas Alves brought Portugal their first top 10 placing in Junior Eurovision when he finished in 8th place in last years contest.
