Sing along to 'Mata Sugu Aō Ne': Lyrics

dutch/japanese/English

Als ik toch vandaag nog kon
Heen en weer de wereld rond
En we samen zouden zijn

Want ik mis
Elk moment dat ik daar ben
Een groot deel van wat ik ken
We are miles apart

I miss you every single day
Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
Mijn vlieger neemt me mee
Snel volg ik dan mijn weg naar jouHope to see you soon
Mata sugu aō ne

Als jij ook tegelijk naar boven kijkt
En er minder afstand lijkt
Voel ik je heel dichtbij
I miss you every single day

Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
Mijn vlieger neemt me mee (ikigai)
Snel volg ik dan mijn weg naar jou
Hope to see you soon

In mijn dromen kan ik zweven
Met mijn vlieger door de lucht
Naar de kersenbloesem toe, oh

Ik wil alles daar beleven
En mijn vlieger van papier
Brengt mij daar en dan weer hier

Wish I could fly away
I’m waiting for that day
Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
Mijn vlieger neemt me mee (ikigai)
Snel volg ik dan mijn weg naar jou
Hope to see you soon

You are so far away (mata sugu aō ne)
I miss you every day (ikigai)
Snel volg ik dan mijn weg naar jou
Hope to see you soon
Mata sugu aō ne
Als ik je weer zie

English translation

If I only could today
Go around the world
And we would be together

Because I miss
every moment that I’m there
A big part of what I am
We are miles apart

I miss you every single day
Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
My kite takes me away
Quickly I follow the road to you
Hope to see you soon
Mata sugu aō ne

If you also look up at the same time
and there seems less distance
I feel you very close by
I miss you every single day

Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
My kite takes me away(ikigai)
Quickly I follow the road to you
Hope to see you soon

In my dreams
I can fly with my kite through the sky
towards the cherry blossom, oh

I want to experience everything there
And my paper kite
Brings me there and then back here again

Wish I could fly away
I’m waiting for that day
Wish I could fly away (mata sugu aō ne)
My kite takes me away (ikigai)
Quickly I follow the road to you
Hope to see you soon

You are so far away (mata sugu aō ne)
I miss you every day (ikigai)
quickly I follow the road to you
Hope to see you soon
Mata sugu aō ne
When I see you again
