It’s official! Silia Kapsis will fly the Cypriot flag at Eurovision 2024

Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024.

It has now been officially confirmed by CyBC that Australian-born Silia Kapsis will represent the Island nation at next years Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

The song that Silia will perform at Eurovision 2024 has been written and composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos, who has worked on numerous Eurovision entries over the years, including “Shady Lady” (Ukraine 2008); “This Is Our Night” (Greece 2009) and “Sugar” (Moldova 2021), among many others.

She released her debut single “Who Am I?” (below) in November 2022, with follow up singles “No Boys Allowed” and “Disco Dancer” being released in March and May 2023 respectively.

Who is Silia Kapsis?

16 year old Silia was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and is of Greek and Cypriot descent. She has been performing since the age of four, and has previously been the lead singer for the Australian Youth Performing Arts Company (AYPAC).

Outside of her singing career, Silia also has a flourishing career as a dancer and an actress. She has danced with world renowned choreographers in Australia and the U.S., where she has danced alongside Stephen “tWitch” Boss on the Jennifer Hudson Show, among many other performances.

With regards to her acting career, Silia has appeared as the lead role, Zoe, in short film Pearly Gates, and worked on various show on Nikelodeon, appearing as a regular host on Nick News.

This year marks the second year running that Cyprus has been represented by an Australian-born singer, after Sydneysider Andrew Lambrou was internally selected to represent Cyprus this year in Liverpool with “Break A Broken Heart”.
