One half of the Italian act will be unable to attend the first rehearsal of their Eurovision 2022 entry "Brividi".

As reported by La Stampa and Eurofestival News, BLANCO will be absent from Italy’s first rehearsal on Thursday 5th May. This is due to the singer completing his Blu Celeste Tour at the Tuscany Hall in Florence.

It is unknown whether there will be a stand-in for BLANCO or if Mahmood will sing the first rehearsal by himself.

BLANCO is expected to be present for Italy’s second rehearsal, taking place on Saturday 7th May.

This is not the first time a Eurovision performer has missed a rehearsal. Eurovision 2017 winner Salvador Sobral had to be replaced by his sister Luisa during both rehearsals as the Portuguese suffered from health problems.

Even last year, American rapper Flo Rida only appeared alongside Senhit for San Marino during the after the rehearsals. He was replaced by Soul System member Don Jiggy
