Wild Youth have won 'Eurosong 2023' and will represent Ireland in Liverpool with their song "We Are One"!

The grand final took place in Studio 4 in the RTÉ Television Centre in Dublin. As usual the show was a spin-off of the long standing talk show The Late Late Show hosted by Ryan Tubridy.

The results were as follows:

  1. Wild Youth – “We Are One” (34 points)
  2.  Connolly – “Midnight Summer Night” (32 points)
  3. K Muni & ND – “Down in the Rain” (20 points)
  4. Public Image Limited – “Hawaii” (18 points)
  5. Adgy – “Too Good For Your Love” (16 points)
  6. Leila Jane – “Wild” (6 points)

The result were decided using a system of 33% international jury votes, 33% national jury and 33% televotes. While Connolly won the international jury vote, Wild Youth won both the national jury vote and the televote.

Ireland are one of the most successful Eurovision countries, winning the contest seven times, more than anyone else. However, in the last 10 years Ireland have only managed to qualify once for the final once. Their last top 10 finish came 12 years, with Jedward and their song “Lipstick“. Wild Youth will be hoping that their short trip across the pond will result in some overdue success for Ireland at Eurovision.
