Iceland at Eurovision

Iceland made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986, finishing in 16th with  ICY and their song “Gleðibankinn“. The Nordic nation are yet to win Eurovision, but have finished 2nd twice, most recently in 2009 with Yohanna and her song “Is It True?“.

After qualifying for the final three years in a row, Iceland have failed to make it past the semi finals the last two. In 2024, Hera Björk sadly finished in the last place in Semi Final 1 with her song “Scared of Heights“.
