For the first time in their Eurovision history, Montenegrins can vote online.

For this years Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, viewers tuning in from Montenegro will be able to vote online for the first time ever. Their online votes will be registered directly at the official voting centre in Cologne, Germany.

Viewers in Montenegro will be able to vote for their favourites by phone or computer by visiting the official voting platform www.esc.vote. The same rules that all other voting countries follow will apply, and each person voting must have a debit/credit card issued in Montenegro.

Montenegro’s Head of Delegation for Eurovision 2025, and Montenegrin representative in 2022, Vladana Vučinić, has welcomed this change: “Following modern European practices, RTCG is further improving the viewer experience by introducing online voting. In this way, we enable our citizens to participate in Eurovision, and support their favourites in an even simpler way.”

The introduction of online voting to Montenegrins will not incur any additional costs for the organisers, the citizens of Montenegro, nor for the broadcaster.

Online voting has currently been in place for Australia to vote in Eurovision since 2022. At last years contest, a total of 15 countries were allowed to have online voting in addition to their televote: Australia, Belgium, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland.

Montenegro are returning to Eurovision this year for the first time since 2022, having sat out the 2023 and 2024 contests due to financial reasons. The broadcaster decided to hold a national final, Montesong, which took place in November 2024.

After initially winning the national final, NeonoeN were set to represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2025 with “Clickbait”; however, in the weeks after the national final, it transpired that the band had previously performed their song during Festival kulture Zabjelo in Podgorica in June 2023, thus breaching the rules of Montesong and Eurovision. The band made the decision to withdraw participating in the contest.

RTCG soon confirmed that Montesong runner-up Nina Žižić would be representing Montenegro at Eurovision 2025 with her song “Dobrodošli.” Nina has previously competed at Eurovision in 2013 alongside Who See with the song “Igranka”.
