The songs uploaded to TikTok with this hashtag will be voted on, and whoever receives the most votes will be added to the Unser Lied für Liverpool line-up.
All other submissions for Unser Lied für Liverpool can be done so at eurovision.de. The deadline for all submissions is November 28th.
Alongside this, German broadcaster NDR will be proactively approaching record labels and artists who might be interested in competing in the national final.
A team of music industry professionals will evaluate all the acts for the show.
Andreas Gerling, head of the ARD team for the Eurovision Song Contest at NDR has said:
“This competition, Europe’s biggest music show, is very important to us. And we are competing in the hope that we will come out ahead. Anyone who thinks they can contribute their musical quality to help make Germany a winner again is therefore more than welcome. I am looking forward to what will hopefully be a very varied and exciting competition.”
Unser Lied für Liverpool is expected to be broadcast live in early March. ARD pop radio stations – Antenne Brandenburg, BAYERN 3, Bremen Vier, hr3, MDR Jump, NDR 2, SR 1, SWR3 und WDR 2 will all encourage their listeners to vote online, which will contribute towards the final results.
2023 will mark the second year running that Germany will select their Eurovision representative through a national final. In 2022, Malik Harris was the winner of Germany: 12 points with “Rockstar”. He finished in 25th place in the Eurovision 2022 final.
