On tonight’s episode of Estonian evening talk show Ringvaade, the hosts for the semi finals of Eesti Laul 2022 shows were revealed for the first time.
Singer Maarja-Liis Ilus and actor Priit Loog will be presenting both semi finals due to be held on the 3rd and 5th February respectively. Tomi Rahula previously hinted that the pair had never performed in front of such an audience before.
During the quarter finals, a different set of hosts presented each show, whereas Maarja-Liis and Priit will be hosting both upcoming semi finals.
Who are the semi final hosts?
Maarja-Liis Ilus
Maarja-Liis Ilus certainly isn’t a stranger to Eurovision, much like the hosts that led the quarter finals of Eesti Lail 2022, who were all former Eurovision participants.
In 1996, Maarja-Liis represented Estonia at Eurovision alongside Ivo Linna with the song Kaelakee hääl.
In 1997 she participated in Eurovision as a solo artist, with the song Keelatud maa.
Priit Loog
Priit Loog is an actor hailing from Viljandi in southern Estonia.
His film debut came in 2006 with a small role in Russian-Estonian horror film Vedma. He has won multiple awards for his various work over the years, including a Best Actor award at the Estonian Film and Television awards for the film Tõde ja õigus.
