EBU releases statement about the incidents surrounding Eurovision 2024

The European Broadcasting Union has released a statement regarding the Eurovision 2024 incidents.

The EBU have released a statement to British tabloid The Mirror, regarding the various incidents that were reported as Eurovision 2024 was taking place in Malmö, Sweden.

“We regret that some delegations at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö didn’t respect the spirit of the rules and the competition both onsite and during their broadcasts. We spoke to a number of delegations during the event regarding various issues that were brought to our attention. Individual cases will be discussed by the event’s governing body, the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group made up of representatives from participating broadcasters, at its next meeting.”

Now that Eurovision 2024 is over, various artists from the class of this years Eurovision have spoken out on their experience at the contest amidst all the controversies that surrounded it, especially towards the end.

Portuguese broadcaster RTP have also reached out to the EBU regarding Iolanda’s grand final performance not being uploaded onto their social media platforms, and instead, another performance (most likely her semi final performance) being uploaded instead, with a delay.

We also saw Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS release a statement in light of Joost Klein’s disqualification from the Eurovision 2024 grand final, in which they mentioned they were not happy with the disqualification decision that the EBU had made.
