Dons has won Latvia's national selection Supernova 2024
Latvia’s national final Supernova 2024 has come to its conclusion following an exciting jury & televoting sequence that eventually revealed that Dons will be flying the flag for Latvia this May in Malmö. Prior to tonight’s final the Latvian broadcaster LTV announced the following line up which is made up of the finalists of Supernova 2024:
- “Vēstulēs” – “kur?” (where?)
- Avéi – “Mine”
- Papīra lidmašīnas” – “Mind Breaker”
- Katrīna Gupalo – “The Cat’s Song”
- Ecto – “Outsider”
- Dons – “Hollow”
- Saint Levića – “Tick-Tock”
- Edvards Strazdiņš – “Rock n’ Roll Supernova”
- Funkinbiz – “Na Chystu Vodu” (On clear water)
- Alekss Silvers – “For the Show”
Tonight’s exciting competition was also accompanied by some very special guests; Alika who represented Estonia at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, as well as Gabrielius Vagelis who has participated multiple times in the Lithuanian selection. The voting for Supernova 2024 opened right at the start of tonight’s show, with viewers having had the opportunity to vote via phone or text message.

At last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Latvia was represented by Sudden Lights with their song “Aijā”. Sadly they just missed out on a spot in the Grand Final, coming in 11th place in Semi-final 1. Does Dons have what it takes to bring Latvia back to the Grand Final this May in Malmö?
