The Voice Kids has made its way to Malta, with a stellar judging panel for its first season.

Destiny, who won Junior Eurovision 2015, and who went on to become Malta’s Eurovision representative in 2020 and 2021, has been confirmed as one of the judges on the brand new series of The Voice Kids, which makes it’s debut in Malta this week.

Fellow Eurovision alumni Gianluca Bezzina, who represented Malta in 2013, and fellow X Factor Malta contestant Owen Luellen will join Destiny on the judging panel for series one of The Voice Kids Malta. Television presenter Sarah Bajada will be the shows presenter.

Who are the judges?

Destiny’s career got off to a kick start when she brought Malta their second Junior Eurovision victory in 2015. Since then, she has continued to sing, releasing a handful of songs over the years. In 2019, Destiny won X Factor Malta, and went on to become Malta’s Eurovision 2020 representative with her song “All Of My Love”. Due to the cancellation of the contest, she was brought back in 2021, where she finished in 7th place with “Je Me Casse”.

Most Eurofans will remember Gianluca as the smiling doctor who represented Malta in Eurovision 2013, finishing in 8th place with his song “Tomorrow”. Gianluca now divides his time between being a doctor, raising a family, and performing.

Owen Luellen first came to people’s attention when he made it all the way to the final of X Factor Malta 2019, mentored by Ira Losco. Since then, he has contiued rapping, releasing a string of new music, and has even collaborated with Ira Losco on her track “Hey Now”.

The show has only just begun, with the first auditions taking place on August 5th. It is unknown at this time how long the show will go on for.
