Besa Kokëdhima will represent Albania at Eurovision 2024 with the song "Zemrën n’dorë".
The final of Festivali i Këngës 62 took place yesterday evening at the Palace of Congress in Tirana. The festival was hosted by Adriana Matoshi, Kledi Kadiu, Xhuliano Dule and Krisa Çaushi. A total of 22 acts competed in the final.
The final results were decided by two seperate votes – jury votes and televotes. The overall winner of Festivali i Këngës 62, Mal Retkoceri and his song “Çmendur”, was decided by 100% jury vote. Albania’s Eurovision 2024 representative, Besa Kokëdhima and her song “Zemrën n’dorë” was decided by 100% televote.
Once all of the acts had performed, and the voting was closed, the hosts announced the top 3 of Festivali i Këngës 62 – Mal Retkoceri, Tiri Gjoci and Shpat Deda. They also announced PeterPan Quartet as the winners for for “best debut act” and Martina Serreqi as Critics’ choice award winner.
Besa Kokëdhima becomes the 16th solo female singer to represent Albania in Eurovision since their debut in 2004. Last year, it was Albina and Familja Kelmendi who were crowned the televote winners of Festivali i Këngës 61, and Albania’s Eurovision 2023 representatives with their song “Duje”. They finished in 22nd place with 76 points at the contest in Liverpool.
