Anastasia Dymyd has been chosen to represent Ukraine at this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Ukraine have decided! Anastasia Dymyd will represent the Eastern European nation at this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Nice with her song “квітка” (Flower).
Ukraine held a national final in Kyiv to find their Junior Eurovision 2023 representative. The show, hosted by Timur Miroshnychenko and Anna Tulieva, saw four acts competing for the ticket to Nice.
The results of the national final were decided by 50% jury vote and 50% online vote (which was open from 10:00 EET on 29th September, to 10:00 EET on 1st October.) The jury panel consisted of three members – Ihor Kondratyuk (television presenter and producer); Jerry Heil (singer-songwriter) and Alyona Alyona (rapper and composer).
Anastasia Dymyd was the winner of the online vote with 5 points, whilst POLINA BABIY topped the jury vote with the maximum 5 points. Anastasia and POLINA BABIY went on to finish 2nd in the jury vote and third in the online vote with 4 and 3 points respectively.
The national final also saw two of the jury members – Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona, performing as guests acts alongside singer-songwriter Demchuk and Ukraine’s Junior Eurovision 2022 representative Zlata Dziunka.
Junior Eurovision 2023 will take place in Nice, France on November 26th at Palais Nikaïa, and will be hosted by Olivier Minne and Laury Thilleman. A total of sixteen countries will be participating, including returnee Germany and debutant Estonia.
