Dutch Eurodance group Vengaboys have expressed their interest in singing at Eurovision 2022, but not for their home country of The Netherlands. In an interview with Metro UK, Robin Pors mentions that he and his bandmates would be interested in representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision next year in Italy.

"We can represent the U.K. I was so embarrassed because the U.K. was really good. The song was nice and the singer was nice, but they were like, 'Whatever, zero points.' How was that even possible? Next year we are going to arrange it. We love the U.K."

Who are Vengaboys?

Vengaboys are a four piece eurodance group from The Netherlands, made up of Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, Donny Latupeirissa, Kim Sasabone and Robin Pors. Vengaboys burst on to the music scene in the late 1990’s and very quickly established themselves a mainstay on the charts across Europe.

Their first single “Up and Down” was released in February 1998. Over the next few years, they went on to release a handful hit songs that topped the charts across Europe, including: “We Like To Party”, “Boom Boom Boom Boom” and “We’re Going To Ibiza”, among others.

After three albums and countless hit singles, the band officially disbanded in early 2001. Nine years later, in 2010, the band made a comeback with “Rocket To Uranus”, reaching number 21 in The Netherlands. In November 2014, the band released “The X-mas Party Album” along with a new single. More recently, the band have released a brand new song “1999 (I Wanna Go Back”.
