United Kingdom: BBC to make Eurovision 2022 announcement on March 10th

Music publishing and management company TaP Music, who will be collaborating with the BBC on The United Kingdom’s Eurovision 2022 entry, have revealed that an announcement will be made tomorrow, March 10th.

Since the announcement that the BBC will be teaming up with TaP music for Eurovision 2022 back in October, both the BBC and TaP have remained very quiet on the Eurovision front, and haven’t given away any details of their plans.

From Tik Tok to Eurovision: Is Sam Ryder headed to Eurovision?

In recent weeks, many speculations have surfaced about who the United Kingdom’s Eurovision representative could be, and one name that has come up on many occassions is Sam Ryder, and his song “Space Man“.

Sam Ryder is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Essex, and has been in the music industry since 2009. He has spent a lot of his career touring the world, and has performed with many bands, including The Morning After, Blessed By A Broken Heart and Close Your Eyes.

San has encountered a lot of success on Tik Tok, where he regularly posts covers of songs from arists such as Adele, The Weekend and Rihanna. He has wracked up millions of views and likes on the app, cementing him account as the most popular U.K. artist account of 2020.

The United Kingdom was represented by James Newman in 2020 and 2021 after the BBC announced they would be teaming up with record company BMG for Eurovision. James Newman’s song “Embers” finished in 26th place in Rotterdam in 2021.
