The X Factor Israel premieres this fall on channel Reshet 13, which means we are close to finding out the Israeli candidates competing for a place at the Eurovision stage next year. This reality television music competition is going to be used as the Israeli national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. According to EuroMix, the singing competition premieres on the first week of October and is set to last until the end of the year.

Netta Barzilai, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, is one of the 5 judges of the show, alongside Aviv Geffen, Margalit Tzan’ani, Miri Mesika, and Ran Danker. The song that will represent Israel is going to be selected after the competition, in an additional program produced by the Israeli broadcaster KAN.

Israel in Eurovision

Israel has participated 42 times in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1973, holding four victories: “A-Ba-Ni-Bi” by Izhar Cohen and the Alphabeta (1978), “Hallelujah” by Milk and Honey (1979), “Diva” by Dana International (1998), and “Toy” by Netta Barzilai (2018).
