The Netherlands have chosen 30 candidates for Junior Eurovision 2021 national final

The Netherlands was one of the first countries which confirmed its participation at Junior Eurovision 2021. They did it even before the 2020 contest had taken place! At the end of September, a call for young Dutch artists was opened.

Three-moths-lasting enrollment was closed at the end of 2020. Zapp (children’s department of the Dutch Broadcaster) has chosen thirty singers from twenty-five different Dutch towns. Last week they took part in the first part of the National Final – auditions for Junior Songfestival 2021.

The list of participants of the auditions includes:

  • Boele from Amstelveen
  • Britte from Baarn
  • Camiel from Njimegen
  • Ceder from Alkmaar
  • Daan from Assendelft
  • Faye from Amsterdam
  • Fieke from Fijnaart
  • Jade from Almere
  • Jestéy from Hoofdorp
  • Juliette from Wormer
  • Lilia from Capelle aan den IJssel
  • Loïs from  Uden
  • Luca from Maastricht
  • Lyova from Duiven
  • Milika from Dordrecht
  • Mirre from Amsterdam
  • Nanice from Nootdorp
  • Pietje from Utrecht
  • Priscilla from Doetinchem
  • Rinze from Hengelo
  • Roos from Zeewolde
  • Sam from Gemert
  • Shanaya from Dordrecht
  • Sofie from Alkmaar
  • Soline from Bussum

Since 2018, Junior Songfestival has taken place on the last Saturday of September. Last year’s winners of this national final, and the Dutch participants in Warsaw, were girl group Unity with the song “Best Friends”. They finished in fourth place, and achieved The Netherlands third top 4 placing in the last 4 years.
