It has been confirmed that Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi will be the hosts for Melodifestivalen 2023.
The news was revealed today in a press conference at SVT Headquarters in Stockholm, and has been shared across Melodifestivalen’s official social media accounts.
Farah, who co-hosted the Melodifestivalen final in 2022, has expressed her joy at returning to the show: “It feels so incredibly fun to be part of Melodifestivalen again. And think that I will have funny, sharp and wonderful Jesper Rönndahl by my side – what an honor.”
For Jesper, who is a newbie to Melodifestivalen, is equally as happy to be paired to Farah: “This is the biggest TV show I’ve done and of course it’s thrilling. I haven’t exactly distinguished myself as a music guy, so my role is probably more to keep track of everything – and to be funny. In any case, it feels extremely safe and happy and fun to be allowed to have Farah by my side.”
Who are Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi?
Jesper is a Swedish television host, radio personality and stand-up comedian, which how his career began. He went on to win an award for “Best Newcomer” at the Swedish Stand-up Awards in 2010 before moving more into television presenting.
Farah is a Swedish television and radio presenter. She started out as a radio presenter on Din Gata 100,6 in 2012 before making her television debut as co-host of Sommarlov. Melodifestivalen 2023 will be Farah’s second time co-hosting the show, after being a green room presenter and final co-host alongside Oscar Zia in 2022.
Melodifestivalen will take place between February 4th and March 11th, and will travel across six cities throughout Sweden.

- Semi final 2: February 11th – Linköping
- Semi final 3: February 18th – Lidköping
- Semi final 4: February 25th – Malmö
- Semi final 5 (formerly Andra Chansen): March 4th – Örnsköldsvik
- Final: March 11th – Stockholm
