After a long hiatus, Luxembourg, making a comeback to the Eurovision Song Contest, has decided to determine its representative through a national final. In a press release today, all details were shared with the public.
Named “Luxembourg Song Contest for Eurovision 2024,” the national selection round will take place on January 27, 2024, at Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette. This national final aims to provide an opportunity for both renowned artists and emerging musicians to compete simultaneously, emphasizing the rich cultural values and highlighting Luxembourg’s success in the music industry.
“The Luxembourg Song Contest is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of our rich musical talent and a homage to our Eurovision legacy,” said David Gloesener, Head of Eurovision at RTL Luxembourg.
The goal is to have music enthusiasts from around the world watch the competition. Therefore, efforts are being made to develop an online system with translations in both English and French, allowing anyone interested to follow the event through “RTL Luxembourg.” Details about the participating artists will be announced soon.
Luxembourg last competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. The group Modern Times, with their song “Donne-moi une chance,” finished the competition in 20th place with a total of 11 points.
