Germany has started it, Switzerland continues: The Alp nation is the second country who is looking for 100 juror members to determine their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as reported by Eurovision Switzerland. Even though the 2021 edition is yet to come, Switzerland has indirectly confirmed their participation for the upcoming year already. The four responsible broadcaster SRF, RSI, RTS and RTR have all made a call to determine the Swiss representative. Switzerland has selected their act internally since 2019 after several non-qualifications.
For 2021, Gjon’s Tears will represent Switzerland in Rotterdam with the French song Tout L’Univers. Last year, he was already supposed to compete for his country with the song Rèpondez Moi which didn’t happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting cancellation. He is considered as one of the bookies favourite and might even finish higher than Luca Hänni who has been internally selected in 2019. With the song She Got Me, he finished 4th.
