The Spanish broadcaster RTVE officially confirmed this afternoon their participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021, that will take place in Paris on December 19th.
The announcement was made in the city of Alicante by RTVE’s president, José Manuel Pérez Tornero, who stated that Spain’s representative would be revealed in the following weeks.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been organised by the EBU annually since 2003, and Spain conquered the first place in 2004 with the song “Antes Muerta Que Sencilla” by María Isabel. After a break between 2006 and 2018, Spain returned to the contest in 2019 and got a bronze medal not only for “Marte” by Melani García, but also in the following year for “Palante” by Soleá Fernández.
With Spain’s official confirmation, there are now 11 countries confirmed to attend the contest, namely France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, The Netherlands and Ukraine.
