A couple of months after the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, some rumors were advanced about a possible request by the Cyprus delegation to the EBU/EBU for Elena Tsagrinou to open the event’s Grand Final line-up in Rotterdam. After the information was recently provided by the Wiwibloggs website, Sietse Bakker, producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and a member of the event’s Reference Group, dismissed the rumors, adding that no delegation made any requests about the alignment, as in previous years , was in charge of the event’s producers.

We recall that Elena Tsagrinou represented Cyprus at the Eurovision 2021 Festival with “El Diablo”, taking sixth place in the 1st semifinal and 16th place in the Grand Final, as a result of 15th place in the televoting and 16th place in the jury.
