The national broadcaster of Ukraine, UA:PBC, have announced that the final of Vidbir will be taking place on Saturday 12th February.
There will be a live televised show that will be produced by “Friends Pro TV”, which is the production company that won the creative competition held by the broadcaster. This same company will also serve as producer for the Ukrainian act in Eurovision 2022.
A total of 284 applications were received for this years edition of Vidbir. The full list of participants is expected to be released next week, whilst the list of finalists is expected on January 24th.
The winner of the Vidbir final will be determined by a combination of jury vote and televote, with the exact ratio to be determined at a later date.
This year will mark the first time since 2020 that Ukraine will use Vidbir to select their Eurovision participant. The last winners of Vidbir were Go_A in 2020 with their song “Solovey“. Go_A were brought back by the broadcaster in 2021 after the cancellation of Eurovision 2020 and went on achieve fifth place in Rotterdam in 2021.
