Sandra Valero will represent Spain at Junior Eurovision 2023

It has been confirmed that Sandra Valero will represent Spain at Junior Eurovision 2023.

After starting their selection process for Junior Eurovision 2023 at the end of May, the Spanish broadcaster has already chosen their representative – Sandra Valero, who was chosen among over 100 applicants.

The song that Sandra will sing at Junior Eurovision 2023 will be chosen internally by RTVE, and they are currently in the process of of selecting a song that suits her best as a performer, and that suits her voice and singing abilities.

During her face-to-face casting performance in Madrid earlier this month, Sandra sang “Part Of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. She was unanimously chosen as the winner by the jury panel made up of: Ana María Bordas, César Vallejo, Miriam García Corrales, Pablo Cebrián, Tony Sanchez-Ohlsson, Rayden and María Eizaguirre.

Who is Sandra Valero?

Sandra Valero is an 11 year old singer, actress and model from Benetússer, Valencia. She comes from a very musical family – her great grandparents, grandmother, uncle and father are all musicians and composers.

In May 2022, Sandra took part in La Voz Kids, alongside Junior Eurovision 2022 representative Carlos Higes. With Operación Triunfo 2017 runner up Aitana as her coach, she made it to the Knockout stages of the show. She has also participated in Idol Kids.

Aside from singing, Sandra can also be found performing in the theatre. She is currently playing the role of Mowgli from The Jungle Book in Benetússer.

Junior Eurovision 2023 will be taking place in Nice, France, on November 26th at Palais Nikaïa. A total of 14 countries have so far confirmed their participation, with 2022 participants Albania and Serbia, and 2021 participant Azerbaijan, yet to make any announcement.
