San Marino to release Eurovision 2021 entry on February 23rd

The official twitter account for San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest announced today that the Sammarinese entry for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest will be released on February 23rd. The song will be performed by Italian singer Senhit, who was due to represent San Marino at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Freaky! after being internally selected by broadcaster SMRTV. However the contest was subsequently cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Who is Senhit?

Senhit is an Italian singer and songwriter from Bologna. In 2011, Senhit represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Düsseldorf with Stand By, which achieved 16th place in the semi-final. SMRTV internally selected Senhit to represent San Marino for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with Freaky!. Due to the contests cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic, SMRTV selected Senhit to represent them in 2021.

Leading up to her participation in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, Senhit has been releasing monthly covers of past Eurovision entries as part of her #FreakyTripToRotterdam series, including winning songs such as Rise Like A Phoenix, Everyway That I Can and Amar Pelos Dois.
