March 2, 2021

Romanian representative for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, Roxen, is going to release her entry in two days on March 4th. This year’s entry was chosen by a professional jury rather than by public vote like the year before. This announcement means that Romania will be joining Belgium, the Netherlands and Moldova in releasing their Eurovision 2021 entries on Thursday.

Roxen teased her entry on her Instagram, where she stated that the music was all she had. In the video we can see a snippet of her performances and preparations for last year, ending with a big, dramatic sign: removing completed.

The genre and the song title is yet to be confirmed.

In 2020, after 2 years of missing the grand final, TVR, Romanian broadcaster, decided to hold a national final entirely dedicated to Roxen. That being said, she recorded 5 songs which she performed. Even though  the fan favorite was Cherry Red, in the Alcohol You triumphed. Later they released the official revamp for Eurovision 2020, but unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the contest was cancelled. However, TVR decided to give Roxen another chance and internally select her 2021 entry.
