Lithuanian state broadcaster, Lietuvos Nacionalinis Radijas ir Televizija (LRT), will once again bet on Pabandom iš naujo (meaning “let’s try again”) as the country’s tryouts for the Eurovision Song Contest. Registration for the 2022 edition of the Lithuanian competition is open until November 25, with the dates and final format yet to be announced.
For Pabandom iš naujo 2022, the LRT will split a total of €54,000 among the participants, for the purposes of producing and improving their performances on stage.
Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1994, having so far only achieved sixth place, as best ranking, in the 2006 edition, and therefore, the only Baltic country that has not yet won any edition of the European competition. This year, Lithuania was represented by the band The Roop, with the theme “Discoteque”, reaching the 8th place.
