Ramires Sciberras has won the Maltese pre-selection with his song “Stilla Ċkejkna” (Little star)
One of two countries who selected their song & singer for Junior Eurovision 2024 tonight was Malta. The popular pre-selection show ‘Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest’ aired tonight at 18:00 CEST at the same time Malta is celebrating 60 years of independence, and there couldn’t be a better way to mark the occasion.
The star-studded show was hosted by Melanie Kelly tonight, and 14 acts took the stage with hopes of winning the trophy and going on to represent Malta at Junior Eurovision 2024 on November 16th in Madrid, Spain. The finalists performed in the following running order:
- Shaz – “Above It All”
- Andrea Camilleri – “Gold”
- Eleny Incorvaja Scerri – “Guiding Light”
- Emma Farrugia – “Summertime”
- GRRLZ – “Grrlz”
- Ilona – “Zip It Up”
- Anneka Xerri – “Trying to Be Me (Ħeq Le)” (Right no)
- Kayleen – “Lalala”
- Ramires Sciberras – “Stilla Ċkejkna” (Little star)
- Maria Curmi – “Għawdex” (Gozo)
- Keira (Keira Farrugia) – “Kif Jien” (How I am)
- Chanel (Chanel Abela Camilleri) – “I’ll Be Alright”
- Thomas Casha – “A Little Bit Longer”
- Daylin Cassar Randich – “Bonafide”
Following all the performances, the exciting voting sequence commenced to determine the winner. The winner of the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was selected by a professional jury (80%) and public voting (20%). Eventually it was revealed that the winner of tonight’s show was Ramires Sciberras with his song “Stilla Ċkejkna” (Little star), who will now go on to represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid.
At last year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Nice, Malta was represented by Yulan Law with her song “Stronger”. She finnished in 10th place in the final with 94 points overall.
