The Portuguese entry for Junior Eurovision 2022 has been released.
Portugal have officially released their entry for Junior Eurovision 2022, “Anos 70” by Nicolas Alves. This is one of the last Junior Eurovision 2022 songs to be released, ahead of Armenia, Georgia, Ireland and Italy.
The song that Nicolas will sing at this years Junior Eurovision, “Anos 70” has been written by Carolina Deslandes, who is one of the biggest names in the Portuguese music industry after finishing in 3rd place in Ídolos Portugal in 2010. She has released three albums to date, with her 3rd album, “Casa” going straight to number one, and becoming the best selling album in Portugal in 2018.
She was nominated for a Latin Grammy award for Best Feature Video for “Mulher”, and won a Golden Globe award for Best Music for “Por Um A Triz”, her Festival da Canção entry in 2021. Carolina was Nicolas’ mentor on The Voice Kids, and has written “Anos 70” especially for him.
Nicolas Alves, who was runner-up on The Voice Kids Portugal this year, is 13 years old and lives in Torres Vedras just outside Lisbon with his Cat, Ben and Dog, Rocky. He was born in England to Brazillian parents and moved to Portugal aged 10. He has been singing since he was 4 years old.
