The host country of Eurovision 2024 has chosen entry for this year's contest

Five exciting weeks of Melodifestivalen heats have been leading up to tonight’s penultimate finale, where 12 participants sang their hearts with hopes of representing their country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö this May. Tonight’s sensational Melodifestivalen Finale took place in the iconic Friends Arena in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm.

However, all anticipation & questions over who will represent Sweden at this year’s contest have now been answered. It has now been revealed that Marcus & Martinus will represent the host country with their song “Unforgettable”.

The participants performed in the following running order:

  1. Maria Sur – “When I’m Gone
  2. Jay Smith – “Back to My Roots
  3. Lisa Ajax – “Awful Liar”
  4. Smash Into Pieces – “Heroes Are Calling”
  5. Cazzi Opeia – “Give My Heart a Break”
  6. Annika Wickihalder – “Light”
  7. Marcus & Martinus – “Unforgettable”
  8. Dotter – “It’s Not Easy to Write You a Love Song”
  9. Medina – “Que Sera”
  10. Liamoo – “Dragon”
  11. Jacquline – “Effortless”
  12. Danny Saucedo – “Happy That You Found Me”

Tonight’s winner was decided via a combined 50/50 jury and televote sequence, which revealed that Marcus & Martinus won tonight’s show and the honour of representing Sweden at Eurovision 2024.

Of course, at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Sweden was represented by Loreen who claimed her second Eurovision victory (583 points in total) with her world-wide hit “Tattoo”, ultimately bringing back Eurovision to home-soil this year. As a result of Loreen’s win last year, Marcus & Martinus will therefore have automatic qualification to the Grand Final, and will be hoping to earn another great result for Sweden this May in their home country.
